The Victorian Energy Upgrades Program (VEU) previously known as the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET), started back in 2009. Essential Services Commission (ESC) introduced this program. The main aim of the program was to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as to cut electricity bills. For this purpose, the government of Victoria started giving away energy-efficient products to the Victorian consumers as an incentive. The consumers then started saving on the electricity bills & the government started meeting its targets to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gasses. So, the program then proved to be a win-win for both the government & the consumers.
